Hillview Church in Morisset, NSW, opened its doors last week to help residents who lost power after a severe storm hit parts of the state. The heavy rainstorms on January 15 had left many households in Cooranbong and other areas without electricity for several days, creating an urgent need for practical support and a safe gathering space. Community members were invited to charge their mobile phones, take hot showers and share warm meals at the church.

More than 1200 Adventists from Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and New Caledonia came together in Port Vila for the Vanuatu National Welfare Congress from December 6 to 15. The 2024 event, themed “Chosen and Inspired to Go Reach My World”, was the first to unite both men and women in a shared congress, breaking away from the tradition of separate gatherings.

The Adventist Church in New Britain New Ireland Mission (Papua New Guinea) has achieved a historic milestone. Church members from the Pomio district have successfully reached the remote Bush Mengen tribe, conducting a weeklong program that led to the tribe’s first two baptisms. Led by Elder Ben Uva Tagaliurea, the mission team visited from November 4 to 10, offering Bible teaching and practical skills training.

More than 600 Adventurers, families and staff gathered at Yarra Holiday Park (Stuarts Point Convention Centre) in Stuarts Point, NSW, for the bi-annual North New South Wales Conference (NNSW) Adventurer Camporee. Held on the last weekend of school holidays, October 11 to 13, the event, themed “Option One”, encouraged the Adventurers to choose Jesus.

The North New South Wales Conference (NNSW) Adventist Aviation Association (AAA) celebrated 60 years of reaching remote communities through aviation in the South Pacific with a special program at Avondale Memorial church in Cooranbong (NSW) on November 1 and 2. Former and current ministry members, including pilots, missionaries and supporters, attended the event, which opened with a Friday evening vespers.
