Their last name might sound familiar to you, but their story is all the more impactful. “I think he and Muriel made tremendous contributions to the city of Columbia in terms of race relations — by integrating Hickman High School and integrating communities in which they lived,” said Gary Kremer, executive director of the State Historical Society of Missouri.
