Columbus (Miami, Fla.), Perry (Gilbert, Ariz.) and Volcano Vista (Albuquerque, N.M.) closed out the 2024-25 high school basketball season by winning their fourth consecutive state championship, joining 52 other schools in history to win four straight in the highest classification of their respective state. Whittier was the first to capture four or more consecutive state championships in the highest classification.

In their first move, Anthony and Frazier Jr. have named John Zito as the new head coach following a three-year stint in the position for Yerrick Stoneman. "I've had my time on the court, and now it's about helping the right people in position to lead and elevate the next generation," Anthony said in a statement. After spending his first three seasons of high school basketball at Towson Catholic (Towson, Md.), Anthony transferred to Oak Hill Academy for his senior campaign.

The first MaxPreps Freshman All-American Team was released in 2010 when Aquille Carr of Patterson (Baltimore) was named National Freshman of the Year. Brian Bridgewater, D.J. Fenner, Kasey Hill and Julius Randle joined him on the first team. Since then, nearly 400 high school basketball players in 40 states have etched their place in history by earning the honor. Paul VI (Chantilly) leads the way with five players selected.
