Maddyn Greenway of Providence Academy (Plymouth) ended the season with 4,454 career points in five varsity seasons while Tori Oehrlein of Crosby-Ironton (Crosby) is just 27 points behind at 4,427.

Texas powerhouse Melissa set the national record in the third inning when Paisley Needham hit the 106th home run by a Cardinals player this season. The bomb puts Melissa ahead of the 2022 North DeSoto (Stonewall, La.), which launched 105 bombs in 39 games. Melissa is ranked No. 1 nationally and broke the record in 33 games during the UIL Class 5A Division 1 regional semifinals tonight against Midlothian. The Cardinals came into the game with 104 home runs.
