    YPSILANTI TWP., MI — Lester Mullin suspects his son had car trouble before a vehicle struck and killed him on I-94. “The only thing I can surmise is that when he got off on Rawsonville Road, the ramp, his car probably died,” Lester said. “But why he went walking down the freeway? We have no idea.” Shawn Mullin was fewer than 1000 feet from his car at the time of the crash, Lester said, citing an official who spoke with him. He is unsure why Shawn was naked when he died.

    PITTSFIELD TWP., MI — A 26-year-old is facing a felony charge for allegedly sending a Molotov cocktail to an ex-partner. Grace Elizabeth Brenner, 26, appeared in court Thursday, May 29, on one charge of sending an explosive with intent to frighten, according to court records. The charge is punishable by up to five years in prison. A former partner had picked up a bag of their belongings from Brenner on March 15, said Chris Page, spokesperson for the Ann Arbor police.

    SANDSTONE TOWNSHIP, MI -- Westbound I-94 in Jackson County was closed for more than four hours Friday for a crash. The freeway closed after Dearing Road, Exit 133, in Sandstone Township for a crash May 30, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation. The freeway, which first closed around 11 a.m., was still closed as of 3 p.m. Traffic was backed up to nearly the city of Jackson, according to traffic cameras. It was not clear when the freeway would reopen.

    SCIO TWP., MI — A woman killed in a rollover crash near I-94 has been identified as a Dexter nurse and singer. Polly Olson, also known by the last name Hodge-Olson, died Saturday, May 24 off I-94 near Jackson Road in Scio Township, west of Ann Arbor. Michigan State Police troopers responding to a crash notification from Ford Motor Co. found a tractor-trailer and an SUV pulled over to the righthand side of the freeway, police previously said.
