    A closed supermarket in Columbus is being revived with a new name. Foodland Grocery, a regional chain headquartered in Albertville, Alabama, is moving into the former Winn-Dixie building at 4231 Macon Road. Work is underway to prepare the site for the new tenant. Foodland has 31 locations throughout Alabama and Tennessee. This store will be Foodland's first expansion into Georgia, according to Foodland's website.

This project will renovate Eighth Avenue. This allows construction for the district's streetscapes and splashpad projects to begin.

This is the fifth consecutive month where no food establishment scored below a "B" grade in Columbus. No Muscogee County restaurant requires a follow-up visit this month.
