    Florida baseball is welcoming back its all-time saves leader, Michael Byrne, as a student assistant coach for the upcoming season. Byrne is rehabbing from an injury after entering free agency following the 2024 MLB season. He will assist Florida’s pitching staff while continuing his recovery. “We are thrilled to bring Michael back to the Gators as part of our coaching staff for the 2025 season,” said Kevin O’Sullivan, Head Coach of the UF men’s baseball team.

    Three members of the Florida swim and dive team were recognized by the SEC this week for their incredible performances during the Gators’ dual meet sweep against No. 23/21 Texas A&M Aggies. Junior Josh Liendo earned SEC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while sophomore Camyla Monroy was named SEC Women’s Diver of the Week and freshman Anita Bottazzo received SEC Women’s Co-Freshman of the Week honors.

These videos, funded by State Farm®, cover essential safety topics, including road rage, safety belt use, drowsy driving prevention, and the influence of peer pressure on teen drivers.

    Beaches Habitat’s Prep Club and State Farm Insurance agents Jayson Judy, Ramey El-Abu, Carla Fenzel Marchese, Carly Jackson and Michael Tauzel assisted the homeless at Mission House in Jacksonville Beach this past Sunday, November 19. High School students Ireland Johnson, Jaylen Williams, Khoi Ho, and Jazzmin Crowder are leaders of the new club, which began in April. Doug Brown, the club’s sponsor, coordinated with the students to develop community service projects.
