I studied abroad in Belize, a country in Central America near the Caribbean Sea. I hadn’t purchased a plane ticket to return home yet. So, halfway into my program, I booked the cheapest flight available for the week after the program ended, which happened to be in Cancún, about eight hours away from where I stayed. After the program ended, I took a bus from Dangriga, Belize to the the Belize-Mexico border, walked across, and caught a taxi to the nearest city.
