DiscussionAcross the responses from HCPs there was very high agreement on the importance and utility of guidelines (statements 1–4, 7–11, ≥86%). Responses to statement 4 (99%) also highlight that, while national guidelines are essential, there needs to be capacity for local variations in practice.

INTRODUCTION In 2023, approximately 7.19 million people in the United Kingdom are estimated to have chronic kidney disease (CKD) which represents more than 10% of the UK population (KRUK, 2023). Globally CKD is estimated to effect 13% of the population and by 2040 is predicted to be the fifth leading cause of lost life years (Kovesdy, 2022; Wen et al., 2022). The management of kidney disease is complex and varied depending on the degree of kidney failure.
