Highlights •Current societal guidelines promote extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in the immediate management of Massive Pulmonary Embolism (MPE)-associated cardiovascular shock. •ECMO (veno-arterial configuration) decreases right ventricular overload, improves RV function, establishes hemodynamic stability, and restores tissue oxygenation.
