COLLINGWOOD star Brayden Maynard is on track to return to full fitness early in the New Year after revealing he dealt with plantar fasciitis for most of the 2024 season. The 2022 All-Australian defender played all 23 games this year and finished eighth in the Copeland Trophy, but struggled to shake the debilitating foot injury during winter.

THE WESTERN Bulldogs have extended their partnership with the City of Ballarat for the next three years, months after the most consequential AFL game at Mars Stadium. Luke Beveridge's side clinched a finals berth on the final day of the home and away season by beating Greater Western Sydney in round 24. The Bulldogs will play two home games per season for the next three years after inking a new deal with Visit Victoria and the City of Ballarat this week.

FREMANTLE has invited two 21-year-old small forwards from the SANFL to trial during the pre-season supplemental selection period, after moving Odin Jones to the inactive list on Friday afternoon. Jones underwent spinal surgery last month after fracturing a vertebrae in a freak accident during the off-season. The Dockers didn't have a spot available to trial anyone else during the SSP after signing former Port Adelaide and Geelong midfielder-forward Quinton Narkle on the opening day of the window.

WESTERN Bulldogs list manager Sam Power has been appointed interim head of football at the Whitten Oval.
