WWE NXT is returning to Philadelphia’s famed 2300 Arena with an interesting date. First reported by WrestleVotes on Thursday, an episode of NXT TV will emanate from the former ECW Arena on Tuesday, August 19th — eight days before AEW’s previously announced residency that begins on Wednesday, August 27th through Thursday, September 11th. WWE has yet to publicly announce the event. NXT debuted at the 2300 Arena on Wednesday, November 6th, to avoid election coverage the night before.

Three-hour WWE SmackDowns on Fridays aren’t going away anytime soon according to a new report from WrestleVotes. The outlet reported Thursday that for the “foreseeable future,” SmackDown will remain at three hours in a change from their previous plan as USA (NBCUniversal) is satisfied with the performance in the third hour. The two sides reportedly had agreed to a final three-hour runtime on Friday, May 30th but plans changed.

The 14th edition of Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport from GCW now has a location and date attached. Announced Wednesday on social media by Barnett himself, the next show will be held on August 2nd at the Williams Center in Rutherford, New Jersey. As of now, Barnett will host three Bloodsports in 2025. The first was held as part of the GCW Collective during WrestleMania 41 weekend in the Las Vegas area with this New Jersey show as the second.

Former Stardom standout Thekla is now officially in AEW. On Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, former AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter was out to share some thoughts following her loss to Mercedes Mone in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation tournament at this past Sunday’s Double or Nothing. Thekla’s music and entrance video suddenly hit before Hayter could get going. She then attacked Hayter and left her laying, posing afterward (seen below).

After re-launching in March, WWE now has their first-ever Evolve Women’s Champion. Kali Armstrong won the title on Wednesday’s edition of WWE Evolve, defeating Wendy Choo, WWE ID contracted Kylie Rae and Kendal Grey in a four-way elimination bout. Rae eliminated Choo first and then Grey, focusing on Armstrong. However, Armstrong picked up the victory with her Kali ConnectionChoo was eliminated first by Rae, followed by Grey, who was also eliminated by Grey.
