The Aurora, the vintage cruise ship that earned newfound fame after sinking near Stockton, has finally left the Delta. Its mooring spot near Eight Mile Road sat empty Friday, and a Coast Guard official confirmed the ship was being towed to Vallejo, a port city on San Pablo Bay some 60 miles west. “It’s been a long process, from the time it sunk to the rising and then the complexity of the inspections,” Chief Petty Officer Levi Read told Stocktonia.

Its ports sprout the dangling ends of countless hoses. WASHINGTON - Former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, 75, known for his efforts in freeing hostages and other wrongly detained Americans, died in his sleep on Friday at his home in Chatham, Massachusetts. Richardson had worn many hats throughout his life, including being a congressman, a 2008 presidential candidate, a U.N. ambassador under the Clinton administration and a congressman. However, he always went by the moniker "the Governor," from his time as leading his home state of New Mexico.
