The best dive watches have you covered whether you're exploring coral reefs or holding a board meeting. Let me start by saying, I’m not exactly a Seiko fan. For all its history, industry impact, and iconic timepieces, Seiko remains one of those brands that (in my subjective opinion) charges more while delivering less. It started with rotten sausage. From the moment I unwrapped my breakfast from a popular Southern chain, I knew I was in for a bad time. The unpleasant smell was followed by an inedible bite. I was heartbroken, disappointed, and disgusted as both my biscuit and my morning went into the trash. I’m a regional breakfast junkie. Whenever I move somewhere new, I devote considerable time and calories to tracking down a memorable pre-dawn meal. In New Mexico, it was the green chile burrito.

You might be asking yourself, “What is bushcraft, and why are there specific knives for it?” Well, according to Dave Canterbury, in his book “Bushcraft 101,” bushcraft is a term for wilderness skills and the practice of surviving and thriving in the natural world.” This may lead you to believe, then, that bushcraft knives are survival knives. But they’re not — not really. The bushcraft and survival categories often get lumped together in the outdoors.

Homage watches can be a tricky thing. Many watch enthusiasts (myself included) frown upon makers that employ “borrowed” designs with mediocre materials and quality control. But there are some manufacturers that bring a measure of credibility to the table. Island Watches and Spinnaker, for instance, started off with what could politely be considered tribute designs before moving on to genuinely interesting ideas of their own. It was with these examples in mind that I reached out to Vario Watches.
