The federal government has announced the take-off of its specialised monotechnic to offer academic programmes in Nigerian cultural studies. Named the Nigerian Academy for Cultural Studies (NACUS), the Nigeria Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), the agency behind it, said it was set to begin programmes with campuses in Lagos, Ogbomosho, Cross River and Abuja in September 2025. According to NICO, no nation can develop without first recognising its cultural elements.

The House of Representatives Committee on Area Councils and Ancillary Matters, has urged extensive engineering designs of road intervention projects by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA). The Committe, led by Hon. Frederick Agbedi expressed concerns, Thursday during its oversight visit to the 15 kilometre A2-Pai road, and the 11 kilometre Yangoji-Sukuku road, all in the Kwali Area Council of the FCT, being executed by the Satellite Towns Development Department (STDD) of the FCTA.

Nigeria’s House of Representatives Committee on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Councils and Ancillary Matters has summoned the Minister of State, Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, over poor state of the Bwari Fish Farm Estate in Abuja. Chairman of the Committee, Fred Agbedi, during an oversight visit to the estate on Monday expressed displeasure over the state of the farm which he said did not align with the aspiration of President Bola Tinubu to ensure food security for Nigerians.
