The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the President of Neo Black Movement (NBM) of Africa, Olorogun Ese Kakor, over alleged forgery of official State government documents. Okpebholo disclosed this in a petition he addressed to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Ajayi.

A Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) cable beneath a flooded road has reportedly electrocuted a 32-year-old woman and her baby to death at the Oregbeni area of Benin City, the Edo state capital. The woman, identified as Sarah David, was said to have her baby strapped on her back when the tragedy occurred. Blueprint gathered that the victim was walking through a flooded road in the area after a heavy downpour, when she stepped on a live electricity cable.

A yet-to-be identified member of the Edo State Security Network have been reportedly shot dead at Ibiwe street in Oredo Local Government Area of the state. A Realtor identified as Umweni Joel Isibor was also said to have been killed in his shop located at 2nd Ugbor Area in Benin City. Blueprint gathered that Isibor was trailed from a church service by his assailants, while four other persons were said to have been killed at different locations in the State capital.
