York 5, Oak Park-River Forest 4Sara Steinecker hit a walk-off home run to center field leading off the bottom of the seventh for the Dukes. Gia Valentin and Avery Kanouse also homered for York, and Kanouse also struck out four and scattered seven hits with four runs (one earned) over 6⅔ innings. Nazareth 5, Marian Catholic 4Kennedy Joe and Annabella Rychetsky each went 2 for 3 with a home run, Rychetsky struck out eight in the circle and Ellie Stratis also went deep for the Roadrunners.

Yorkville 11, Bolingbrook 1Ellie Fox was 3 for 3 with two triples, a run scored and three RBIs, and Isabella Rosauer struck out 12 and allowed just two hits over five innings in the circle for the visiting Foxes (17-8, 9-4 Southwest Prairie Conference). Callie Ferko scored two runs and drove in a run and Kayla Kersting drew three walks, stole two bases and scored two runs.

YORKVILLE – Preston Regnier felt like a change in his preparation was called for. Yorkville’s senior right-hander has gone through a rocky last month. Regnier was hit hard in losses to Oswego and Minooka his last two times out. He didn’t make it through four innings in three of his last four starts. “I was babying my arm a little too much in between starts, not loosening it up fully,” Regnier said.

Downers Grove North 12, Addison Trail 1Grant Fordonski was 3 for 3 with a double, five RBIs and runs scored, Edgar Santos was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and three RBIs and Brady Schallmoser had two doubles for the Trojans (21-5).

Genoa-Kingston InviteSandwich won the team championship in the 10-team meet at Genoa with 101 points, beating out runner-up Seneca (75.5). Sandwich’s Simeion Harris won the 400-meter dash in 50.46 seconds, Luis Murillo won the shot put with a throw of 15.53 meters, Jacob Ross cleared 4.65 meters to win the pole vault and the team of Nate Hill, Simeion Harris, Kayden Page, Devin Adams won the 4x100 relay in 44.43 seconds.
