Photo by Michael Hickey/Getty Images The all-time assists leader for Kansas State, a WBCA and AP All-America honorable mention selection in 2025, Serena Sundell has been selected with the 26th overall pick by the Seattle Storm. Sundell came to K-State with the Glenn twins, a trio from a stellar AAU team that promised big returns.

Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images It’s been over 20 years since the Kansas State Wildcats made the regional semifinals. Back in 2002, the then 3-seed Wildcats fell 82-62 to 7-seed Old Dominion. It was a reversal of 1982, when in the first NCAA Tournament, the 4-seed Wildcats beat the 1-seed Monarchs 76-67 to advance to the program’s one and only regional final. The Wildcats face a huge test today. USC comes into today’s game having lost just three games all season, earning them a 1-seed.

Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images Here we are again, the Round of 32 of the NCAA Tournament. For your Kansas State Wildcats, this has been the round of horrors for the past 23 years. For 10 of the past twelve trips to the Big Dance, the Wildcats have advanced to the second day of the tournament, but no further. The last time the Wildcats won game two was 2002, and even some really good teams have not made it past that mark since.

Photo by Peter G. Aiken/Getty Images Your Kansas State Wildcats begin their journey into the madness of March today, looking to get out of the first weekend of action in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2002. Of course, it would have likely been easier had the MittieCats (26-7, 13-5 Big 12) not crumbled down the stretch, and had earned a 4-seed or higher and gotten the right to host the opening round games like last year.
