Amber Edwards, of Cornwell Road, Trumpington, pleaded guilty to the offence on June 19 at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court in Ipswich. Court documents say that on February 24 in Newmarket the defendant was in Rous Road and had with her, without good reason or lawful authority, an article which had a blade or was sharply pointed, namely a folding knife and locking knife. Edwards was given a community order with 15 rehabilitation days and a fine of £114.

Courtney Mitchell, 26, died on August 6 after being murdered in Burrell Road by her former partner, Logan Burnett. Burnett was jailed for life in February and must serve a minimum of 24 years. Previously in a statement, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said it was "independently investigating recent contact that Essex Police had with Courtney Mitchell, prior to her tragic death".

Matthew Chapple, of Mill Road in Worthing, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Bury St Edmunds. Chapple appeared before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on May 2 and admitted driving through the town in Mildenhall Road while being more than twice over the alcohol limit. On April 3, the defendant had 72 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, while the limit is 35mcg, court documents show.

Officers detained Roy Barclay, 56, in Ipswich Library in October, nearly three months after Anita Rose, his alleged victim, was found unconscious in Brantham. The police footage released by the Crown Prosecution Service shows the moment officers arrested Barclay in the public library. In the video, an officer can be seen approaching the defendant, who is currently on trial at Ipswich Crown Court.
