Ipswich Borough Council had previously greenlit proposals from Tammie Homes Ltd to convert what had been branded an "eyesore" site in 240 Wherstead Road. However, the company has now put it on sale through an auction with a guide price of £800,000 through Auction House East Anglia, and will go under the hammer on Wednesday, June 18. The director of the company, Matt Purnell, said that because of delays in getting planning approval, the developers had moved on to other projects.

On Friday, nearly 200 people arrived at the grounds of Christchurch Mansion's lawn for a prayer marking the festival of sacrifice, commemorating the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.
