I traveled to Portugal twice in the next 15 months and learned more about this beautiful country each time. On my third trip, I booked a tour that provided a whole new experience. Viewing Lisbon from the land, sea, and sky made me fall in love even deeper with this fantastic city.

Janesville, WI, offers many outdoor activities, great restaurants, and shopping for a fun weekend escape from Chicago. Janesville, Wisconsin, provides a wonderful weekend escape from the big city. Depending on where in Chicago you set out from, the drive takes between one and two hours. Visitors from Madison or Milwaukee can reach this small town in even less time. I visited Janesville in July during an extended stay in Chicago and enjoyed the many outdoor activities and walkable main area of town.

Before visiting Pittsburgh, everything I knew about the city came from watching football. The Steelers played at Three Rivers Stadium, so three rivers must converge there, and steel mills along the rivers. While attending a conference at the Convention Center, however, I discovered a wonderful city with beautiful bridges, river walks, impressive cultural sites, and unique shopping. In the fall, Pittsburgh offers a wonderful place to enjoy the changing leaves and a lively urban setting.
