Deaubrey Philson works at the Hardee’s restaurant on Atlanta Highway, and his commute to work was nearly an hour each day; until now. “I didn’t really want to say anything because he’s really quiet, so we just started paying attention, and we realized he was walking to work,” said Philson’s shift manager, Rosa Harris.

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - A group of high school students from the opposite side of the country have taken learning to a new level. The Riders for Race Amity, as they call themselves, rode 1,000 miles from Wisconsin to Montgomery on their bikes to explore the country’s history for themselves. “Race means racial, and amity means friendship,” said organizer Kate Vestlie. While in Alabama, the group made stops in Montgomery, Selma Birmingham and Montgomery.
