    SELKIRK, NY (WRGB) — An elderly horse is back on her feet thanks to the vigilance of her owner and some specially trained rescuers. Earlier this winter, Christy McElligott's mare, Betty, had an unfortunate incident in the pasture of her Selkirk farm. After laying down for a quick rest, which isn't unusual, Betty couldn't get back up. "She lay down... but it was so snowy and icy that she just couldn't get her feet back under her to get back up again." Christy says.
