Wayne Woodgate was described by one of his seven children as being “petrified” and “scared out of his wits” following two encounters with Stephen Castle several months before he was killed on October 17 last year.

A man faces jail for a late-night assault which left his victim needing hospital treatment. William Brazil was arrested five days after the incident which was said to have involved a group of people in St Peter's Street, Canterbury. Police were called to the area shortly after 1am on March 29 where they found a man, now named as Paul Wickendon, and reported to be in his 60s, having suffered from what a judge has described as "really serious harm".
