Allegheny County’s former top public defender filed a lawsuit Tuesday, alleging she was wrongfully terminated. Lena Bryan-Henderson was fired last month after an investigation into claims that she made offensive comments to co-workers. But in the suit, filed in the Court of Common Pleas against county manager John Fournier, Bryan-Henderson claims those allegations are “bogus” fabrications by disgruntled employees.

The Allegheny County Board of Elections unanimously certified the results of the May 20 primary on Monday afternoon, cementing the lineup of candidates that voters will see on their ballots in November. But there are at least a couple wild cards whose significance isn’t yet clear. There were more than 360 successful write-in efforts nominating candidates for various local and judicial offices, including two running for Common Pleas Court.
