The festival began when fans of the plucky instrument wanted to get together and view a film called “Mighty Uke: The Amazing Comeback of a Musical Underdog.”During the festival, people will be able to take part in a variety of workshops, as well as listen to live music and family-friendly activities.

The Michigan State University Product Center held its 18th annual “Making It In Michigan” trade show at the Lansing Center. It brought together hundreds of food and beverage businesses across the state. Visitors to the show had the opportunity to try different food and drink options, connect with potential buyers, and network.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Later this month, Children Trust Michigan will be supporting child abuse and neglect prevention programs across Michigan. The organization supports children, by funding those programs. The organization will be holding the 26th annual Pam Posthumus Signature Auction. This year’s auction will highlight child sexual abuse and its impact on local children. The auction will be May 13 starting at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $175 dollars.

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Youth across Michigan came together to showcase their workplace skills. The Youth Solutions organization held its annual career development conference. The non-profit organization helps to close the talent gap by providing career readiness programs to students in and out of school. During the conference, children took part in a quiz competition, testing their knowledge of workplace skills and career development.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX)— Thousands of people will converge on the Michigan State Campus for the sixth annual Izzo Run, Walk, and Roll. The goal of the event is to unite communities to honor MSU Men’s Basketball Coach Tom Izzo and his legacy. The Izzo Family says they wanted to leave a lasting legacy to show appreciation for the community that has supported them over the years.
