LEXINGTON, Va. — Hundreds gathered in Lexington this week to relive the old days. Virginia Military Institute held a big reunion for five classes that graduated years ago. The event ran from Sunday, April 13 through Tuesday, April 15. CBS 6’s Julie Bragg was there. She and her sisters took their father, Clyde, to meet up with his fellow classmates from the Class of 1965. The reunion also included alumni from the Classes of 1950, 1955, 1960 and 1970.

MECHANICSVILLE, Va. — Like many 12-year-olds, Landon Cole loves the video game Minecraft. He's also quite the scholar, already mastering algebra in the seventh grade, and is known for his infectious laugh. "He's just a blast. He's always happy and stays positive all the time about everything," Landon's father, Tyler Cole, said. "I've never heard him say a mean thing about a single person ever," added his mother, Beth Cole.

MEHERRIN, Va. -- A Central Virginia animal rescue group is taking part in Animal Planet's "Puppy Bowl" for a second time. The 21-year tradition on Super Bowl weekend puts precious puppies in the national spotlight to raise awareness about the benefits of pet adoption. "Team Ruff" and "Team Fluff" will go nose to nose in the "Puppy Bowl" as two rookies from Central Virginia, Spike and Hail Mary, take the field in New York.

RICHMOND, Va. — The "Nutcracker Sweet" — a one-of-a-kind performance — will continue after a beloved dance teacher died unexpectedly. For the last 12 years, the Nutcracker Sweet ensemble has brought together students from all over the area, regardless of skill, experience or age. The woman behind the Nutcracker Sweet, Tristi McMaster Robinson, died in February after a sudden cardiac problem. She was only 58.

Nick’s Roman Terrace in the Westland Shopping Center along West Broad Street in Henrico has fed hungry diners for decades. In addition to great-tasting Greek and Italian dishes, loyal customers have returned to Nick’s for the lively family atmosphere that includes celebrating Christmas with an in-store Santa. The party, however, is coming to a close at the location Nick’s fans have come to know and love. Restaurant owner Tony Anifantis has decided to close the restaurant which opened in 1975.
