WTVR-TV (Richmond, VA)
WTVR-TV is a historic CBS affiliate situated on West Broad Street in Richmond, Virginia. As the first television station in the South, it is owned by the E. W. Scripps Company. This station began broadcasting on April 22, 1948, making it the first TV station to receive a license south of the Mason-Dixon line. Additionally, it was the 16th television station to launch in the United States and the eighth to be awarded a broadcast license.
