WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A 9-year-old Central Texas boy who used his childhood artwork to raise money for a foundation that helps veterans, first responders and their families proudly presented a check for over $7,000 at a benefit in Waco Saturday night. Gunner Caldera, of West, went on stage at the Chris Kyle Memorial Benefit to give the check for $7,403 to the American Valor Foundation at The Base at the Extraco Event Center.

Bruceville-Eddy agricultural science teacher and FFA sponsor Sean Sammon said he could not just stand by and do nothing when junior Skylar Huffman-Terry forgot to wear a collared shirt, which would have disqualified her from competing at the Area 8 Contest Career Development Event at Tarleton State University.

HEWITT, Texas (KWTX) - A Central Texas teenager with epilepsy is recovering after undergoing a brain surgery that should slow the number of seizures she’s having, which was first denied multiple times by insurance. Emma Isbell, 16, of Hewitt, was born with epilepsy and was later diagnosed with a neurodevelopmental disorder which makes her condition less likely to respond to traditional medications. As a result, the young girl has been experiencing seizures two times a week on average.
