    I’m started writing this at LAX on my way home to Brooklyn. On Sunday night, for the first time in more than three weeks, I slept in my apartment, where I’ve lived for a few years, but now live solo. I’m beyond grateful for the generosity of friends and family who have housed me (and fed me and comforted me) over the past few weeks, and I’m so excited to be in my own space. Despite having lots of familiar stuff in it, it feels new.

    Real Americans by Rachel Khong. It grabbed me from the get-go because of its woman-in-media-meets-nice-guy-with-rich-family storyline (le sigh!), but it’s so much more than that. It spans generations, gets a little science-y, and has some mystery—plus, it’s further proof that of all the big splashy “book clubs,” Jenna’s remains the most reliable. A new hot honey ketchup from—wait for it—Glen Powell’s new condiment line, Smash, and honestly, it’ll be my new go-to for delivery fries.

    Five years ago, in the midst of a pandemic-related relocation flurry (everyone was doing it), I took all my things from my white box Manhattan apartment and moved them to a charming Brooklyn brownstone. And when I say “all my things,” I truly mean it: I paid movers to transport my boxy West Elm sofa, my rectangular reclaimed wood dining table (plus a matching bench), an IKEA dresser, a stone coffee table, a rug, and two dining chairs. My now-husband brought a credenza and a dresser, too.
