And Leidos is betting on it.                             The defense tech firm is developing an alternative navigation system that uses the Earth’s magnetic field as a stable reference, pairing it with quantum sensing to steer through environments where GPS signals can’t. Called magnetic navigation (MagNav), the approach taps into quantum mechanics to measure minute magnetic variations.

    The US Air Force (USAF)’s 53rd Wing has activated a new unit that will evaluate the progress of the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program. The Experimental Operations Unit (EOU) was launched at the Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada to be the premier evaluator of the CCA’s future developments, including its design and production phases.     A group of six European countries has signed a statement of intent to explore a joint procurement of CV90 armored infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs).     Poland has canceled its plans to purchase 32 S-70i Black Hawk helicopters for the Polish Armed Forces, citing a shift in defense spending priorities. The Polish Armament Group (PGZ) chose to terminate the procurement process in response to the fluidity of its needs. “In the face of a dynamically changing geopolitical situation and evolving threats, it is natural to optimize and adapt purchasing priorities to the current needs of the Armed Forces,” PGZ Spokesperson Colonel Grzegorz Polak said.
