I'm not typically the type of person to share sad songs, nor do I share a lot of folk these days. So that means this is a bit of an exception, but I think that's because there's something exceptional about it. Sierra Fotouhi obviously doesn't want to kill you or me. She wants to kill someone who broke her heart. So unless you're the one who broke her heart and you happen to be reading this review, you've got nothing to worry about.

It would be weird if I started writing for Indie Shuffle again and didn't mention my absence. If I were coy enough, that might have happened. A lot has changed since I last wrote a blog post. I live in Amsterdam now, there's inflation, and now my friends in my new life call me Dinifred. It's a mixture of Dylan and Winifred, which is the name of the cocker spaniel I soul bonded with about seven standard Earth months ago.

Don't you love songs that reel you in from the minute it starts? I'm always guilty of rewinding to the start of a song if it hooks me. And it's happened again. Slow Cannonball by Castle Theater starts with a bang that thrusts the listener into repeated riffs that subtly carry the song the entire way. She Knew Me So Well"Honey" is that feeling you have when you talk about the people in your past, the moments they shared, the things they helped with, and it's all destructively sweet. Will Juergens and Mars Today lit the fire of my heart with this track. It made a heart out of my cold moments, the sad times, the melancholia — it heated all of that in dreamwave winds, soft folk strings, and a shimmer of lo-fi...just to make the flames pop.
