One of the highlights of the season for Matt Bolding was less about excitement or thrill, and more a big sigh of relief. The Auburn High senior had never lost an area game in his career when a nail-biter against Central-Phenix City went to penalty kicks on April 17 in Duck Samford Stadium. Bolding and his classmates had never lost to the local rivals in their area, namely Opelika, Central and Smiths Station, and the Red Devils threatened to spoil that mark at the end of full time.
