TRUCKEE, Calif. — A brother and sister duo from Truckee swept the Class 3A Northern Region Singles Playoffs last weekend. Senior Paige Wilcox and sophomore Kiefer Wilcox each battled their way through the 16-player tennis tournament at Tahoe Donner Tennis Center to give the Wolverines a sweep of the individual titles. “It means a lot,” said Kiefer Wilcox.

TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Truckee volleyball team moved within reach of the Class 3A Northern League championship after snapping South Tahoe’s 11-game winning streak to move into sole possession of first place in the league standings. The Wolverines hosted the Vikings on Tuesday in a battle of the league’s top two teams. Truckee won the first two sets, 25-23 and 25-20, before dropping the third set 25-22.

NEW WASHOE CITY, Nev. — The North Tahoe girls’ golf team capped off an undefeated season this week by winning the two-day Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Class 2A State Girls’ Golf Tournament. After finishing as runners-up the past two seasons, the Lakers broke through to claim the state championship in dominant fashion, winning the tournament at Toiyabe Golf Club by a combined 308 strokes.
