    EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - After twice bringing home silver at the U21 Junior Curling Nationals, Team Hebert struck gold on Sunday as they dominated their way to the championship win. Team Hebert, made up of the Eau Claire Curling Clubs Caden Hebert, Jack Wendlant, Jackson Bestland and Benji Paral, went undefeated during the week on their way to the title. They defeated Team Lannoye 8-5 to win the championship. The win comes after Team Hebert finished second in the event last year and in 2023.

    RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) - UW-River Falls scored three goals in the second period, as they defeated Amherst 3-1 to capture their second consecutive NCAA Division 3 Women’s Hockey championship. After a scoreless first period, MaKenna Aure opened the scoring for the Falcons :40 seconds into the second. River Falls would strike again, when Madison Kadrlik found the back of the net.

    EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire softball team swept a doubleheader against St. Catherine University 8-1 and 5-1 on Saturday at the Sonnentag Fieldhouse. The two wins pushed Blugolds Head Coach Leslie Huntington to 600 victories in her coaching career. Huntington, in her 24th season leading the Blugolds, became the second coach in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) history to reach 600 career wins.
