Houston Airports says the flight, originally headed from Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) to Frankfurt, Germany, had to return shortly after takeoff due to a maintenance issue. Flight 46 took off around 6:24 p.m. CDT, right on time. But not long into its journey, the crew encountered a technical issue and decided to head back to Houston as a precaution.

Two teenagers are in custody after deputies say they were caught driving a freshly stolen vehicle in north Harris County. It happened in the 19500 block of Aldine Westfield Road, where Sergeant Gonzalez with Constable Mark Herman’s Office pulled the car over during a traffic stop. Inside were two juveniles, just 14 and 15 years old. Investigators later learned the vehicle had just been reported stolen.

Published: May 31, 2025 at 5:11 PMA family argument turned violent Saturday morning when a 25-year-old man was shot by his father-in-law outside a business in Conroe. It happened around 10:20 a.m. at a property off Highway 105 West. When police got there, they found Koda Mayrant with a gunshot wound. Officers started first aid before paramedics took over and rushed him to a nearby hospital. He’s expected to survive and was last listed in serious but stable condition.

A man was found shot to death just after midnight Saturday outside a home in southwest Houston, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. It happened around 12:43 a.m. in the 7100 block of Sonnet Glen. Family members told deputies they heard a gunshot and rushed outside to find the 36-year-old lying unresponsive in the walkway leading to the front door. He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS crews. Investigators say the man lived at the home with his parents and several other relatives.

A Harris County resident grew suspicious after someone asked them to drop off a package at the jail, and it’s a good thing they did. Instead of going through with it, the resident called for help. A Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy came to pick up the brown paper sack and brought it back to the station, where a sergeant opened it up.
