Rickards holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Princeton University. Board of trustees members praised Rickards' understanding of student and faculty needs and his leadership in academic affairs. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has warned sensitive groups of an air quality alert for Wednesday, June 4. According to the department, sunny conditions, hot temperatures and light southwest winds will contribute to ozone levels rising into the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" category for those along the I-95 corridor on Wednesday. Firefighters in the City of Camden battled a blaze Sunday afternoon that closed a local road and tied up traffic, officials said. Crews were dispatched at 3:23 p.m. Sunday to the 1622 Carman St. address in the city to fight a structure fire that eventually hit three-alarm status, Camden Fire Department Chief Jesse Flax said. At the time, traffic was closed on Federal Street to monitor the flow of motorists into one direction.
