It has always been hard to recruit and retain prison staff in the United States. But the most recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau show that in 2022, the number of people working for state prisons hit its lowest mark in over two decades. Only four states were lower staffed than Wyoming, which oversees five state facilities. Gov. Mark Gordon has recommended not to remove Weston County Clerk Becky Hadlock. Back in December, nine qualified electors of the county submitted a verified complaint to the governor seeking Hadlock’s removal for misconduct and/or malfeasance in the office. There were four specific actions of Hadlock’s outlined in the complaint:Mishandling election ballots by ordering and using multiple ballot versions in the general election.

Twelve pronghorns were found shot and left to waste north of Kemmerer. A member of the public who was recreating on Ham’s Fork Road north of Viva Naughton Reservoir reported the incident to Kemmerer Game Warden Alex Poncelet. It is believed the incident happened between the afternoon of April 26 and April 27.

Wyoming’s lone Representative is holding in-person town halls again. This comes about a month after Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY) announced she was going to hold only virtual town halls. At the time, Hageman said her decision came from recent incidents at public town halls in Laramie and Wheatland. She cited consistent and sustained disruptions in Laramie and said her staff experienced a physical confrontation with an attendant at her Wheatland town hall.
