Thousands of people expected to volunteer during Love Modesto event

MODESTO, Calif. — More than 8,000 people are expected to volunteer their time or donate to a good cause on Saturday in Modesto. The purpose of the campaign is to bring people together through volunteering. People are encouraged to sign up for a community project close to their hearts. This year, there are more than 330 projects citywide, including beautification projects, food and clothing drives, home repairs, and other initiatives.
