May 14 (UPI) -- Glen Powell's Chad Powers sports comedy is set to premiere on Hulu Sept. 30. The Twisters, Hit Man and Top Gun: Maverick actor co-created the series with Michael Waldron. Powell will star alongside Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, Frankie A. Rodriguez and Steve Zahn. NFL legend Eli Manning serves as executive producer along with Omaha Productions' Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown and ESPN.

May 14 (UPI) -- Angel Studios has announced it ordered the completion of Homestead Season 1 and green-lit the post-apocalyptic drama for Season 2. Based on the bestselling Black Autumn book series by Jeff Kirkham and Jason Ross, the show is a follow-up to the popular 2024 film of the same name. It stars Bailey Chase, Charles Esten, Dawn Oliveri, Jill Wagner and Jesse Hutch.

NEW YORK, May 13 (UPI) -- Christian Wallace says it has been an "incredible journey" hosting the Boomtown podcast, then co-creating Landman, a Paramount+ drama series based on the show, with Yellowstone titan Taylor Sheridan. Starring Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Jon Hamm and Demi Moore, Landman is about the people who work in and around an independent Texas oil company. Season 1 was released on DVD and Blu-ray Tuesday. Production is now underway on Season 2.

May 13 (UPI) -- The first two episodes of Alien: Earth will premiere Aug. 12 on FX and Hulu in the United States. Subsequent installments of the eight-episode series will roll out weekly on those platforms. The sci-fi show also will be available internationally on Disney+. Written and directed by Noah Hawley, the thriller takes place two years before the events of the 1979 film Alien. The show is the first TV series in the Alien franchise.

May 12 (UPI) -- Prime Video has announced plans to air a new series called Delphi, which is a spin-off of Michael B. Jordan's Creed film franchise. Jordan's Outlier Society is to executive produce the series about young boxers who train at the Delphi gym. No casting has been announced yet. Marco Ramirez is to serve as show-runner and executive producer. The Creed trilogy itself is a spin-off of Sylvester Stallone's iconic Rocky franchise, which began in the 1970s.
