    By Paul Hayne, Vice President, Millbrook and District Lions ClubMillbrook and District Lions Club serves the breakfast at Centennial Place to the men members that are able to attend. This breakfast started about 15 years ago when the Lions Club decided on entertaining some of the male residents at Centennial Place. We have a long history with Centennial Place with fundraising, helping with their BBQ and sometimes sitting with them on a Saturday night watching a hockey game in their main room.

    This year, the weekly harness races at Kawartha Downs return to their traditional Saturday evening time slot, with a post time of 6pm. As always, admission and parking for these events is free. The seasonincludes18 race dates, wrapping up on September 20th. Horse racing is an exciting sport, dynamic business and a major contributor to the agricultural economy in Ontario.

    By Joanne RowlandFinally spring weather is here and we can start work in the Millbrook community garden. The garden is located next to the Old Millbrook School (where the library is)with a beautiful center flower garden looked after beautifully by some local volunteers. There are 12 individual plots that can be rented for $5 for the year and a large area where food is grown to donate to our local food share.
