A 16-year-old boy died Sunday morning when he crashed the motorcycle he was riding into a curb on an Escondido street and was thrown from the bike, Escondido police said. The teen, whose name was not released, was riding with another boy north on Bear Valley Parkway near Canyon Road when he struck the right curb and lost control, police said. Escondido police did not say what time the incident occcured.

San Diego police arrested a driver on Thursday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian on a Mission Hills street last month. Police said they arrested William Christian, 58, who they believe was driving a white car when he allegedly struck the pedestrian. The suspect’s vehicle, a 2017 Dodge Challenger with California license plate 7WWM511, has not been located, police said.

A woman was killed early Thursday morning when a wrong-way driver crashed head-on into her vehicle on Interstate 8 in the College Area, a California Highway Patrol official said. The other driver, a man in his 20s, survived the collision and was later arrested at the hospital on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, authorities said. The crash was reported shortly before 2:50 a.m. after a black SUV heading west in the eastbound lanes slammed into a Mini Cooper just east of College Avenue.
