San Diego Zoo Elephants React to Earthquake with a Circle

A 5.2 earthquake shook San Diego earlier and elephants from the zoo were prepared. The zoo caught on camera the animals forming a protective circle. The San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance posted a video of the park's African elephants quickly making a circle around the younger elephant to protect them during the earthquake shake. They call this an "alert circle".
Golden Retriever Goes from Shelter to Service Dog

A new twist in Ruby's life! The golden retriever went from being left in a shelter to becoming a service dog. Last summer, her original owner left her at the SPCA Roussillon in Canada when the workers noticed the connection she has with people. They contacted the Asista Foundation which is a charity dedicated to rescuing dogs from shelters and training them to become service dogs. Nick Suzuki and his fiancée Caitlin Fitzgerald have been volunteering and supporting Asista for years.

Earlier this month an EF3 tornado hit the city of Poplar Bluff in Missouri where Darby Russom lost every single thing... including her wedding photos. She says there was a ton of damage in the area and their house was a complete loss. Her and her husband Trendall just got married a little over a year ago before the community was impacted with winds up to 140 mph. But something magical did happen for the couple.

We got some egg-celent news for you! Krispy Kreme is celebrating the spring holiday with a "Hoppy Easter Collection". The doughnut company is adding four new Easter themed treats to the menu starting this week. The first sweet is original glazed doughnut with strawberry icing and pastel colored sprinkles. Alongside a new Bunny Basket Doughnut which is a glazed chocolate icing doughnut decorated with chocolate buttercream in a basket pattern and little confectionery bunny.
Strangers Surprise Little Boy at His Birthday

A young boy was given a great birthday surprise when he was celebrating at the park. The 8-year-old was getting ready to blow out the candles on his cake when a couple of strangers came over to help sing 'Happy Birthday'. The party was a little small with guests so adding a couple more added to the excitement. An adult and three children popped over to surprise James. In the video, you can see his shock and happiness shine through. His smile wouldn't stop growing as they all high-fived after.

A Golden Retriever was named a hero this past weekend in Lebanon. Brad Schofro's dog was causing commotion staring out the window. He already thought this was strange because his dog rarely barks. Then he looks over and sees a toddler wandering up his neighbor's driveway. Schofro immediately went over to his neighbor's and asked him about the child, who he knew nothing about. Then he asked another neighbor who didn't know the little boy either.
Minke Whale Circling Long Beach Harbor

Over the past few days a lone minke whale has been lingering around Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is keeping a close eye on the whale hoping it'll find its way back into the open sea. Officials say there are no visible wounds or injuries and believe the animal arrived when the tides were high. However, the tides are now low which can make it more difficult for the whale to swim home.
Big Bear Eaglets Now Have Names

Everyone has been following the story of the bald eagle couple in Big Bear and now their two newborn chicks have names! Jackie and Shadow are joined by Sunny and Gizmo. Sunny was given to the bigger chick where Gizmo was given to the smaller one. The nonprofit, Friends of Big Bear Valley, has had live cameras in the eagle's nests since day one of the pregnancy. They said the contest received more than 54,000 name suggestions from the community and viewers.
Rare Star Explosion Coming

A long-dead star in the constellation named Coronae Borealis, is excepted to explode into a nova soon. It's 3,000 light-years away from Earth and will be so bright that it will look like a complete new star. Scientists are calling it T Coronae Borealis which last erupted in 1946 so it wouldn't happen again for another 80 years. Astronomers are watching the night sky closely as you might be able to see it soon with a naked eye.
