By Karina GerryPeople from all over the city came together at Columbus Circle Saturday to speak out against President-elect Donald Trump and his policies. “We’re out here because we’re extremely clear eyed about the threat ahead and who is directly targeted,” said Sophie Ellman-Golan, a Brooklyn resident and part of the Jews For Racial & Economic Justice group. The rally comes after a record number of New Yorkers voted in favor of Trump on Election Day.

Williamsburg Soccer Club started back in 2017 by husband-and-wife Matt and Saára. "He noticed that there was a gap in the market there was no kids programming in 2017 in Williamsburg," Saára said.

Dozens gathered in Crown Heights Saturday to honor the legacy of Dr. Josephine English – also known as the "Birth mother of Brooklyn."Family, friends and Crown Heights residents came out for the street co-naming ceremony at the intersection of President Street and New York Avenue, which will now also be called The English Way. The street co-naming came to be all thanks to a documentary started by one of the 6,000 babies thought to be delivered by Dr. English.

A total of 284 rookies are joining the ranks of the FDNY and celebrated their graduation on Friday. Friends, family and loved ones packed into the Christian Cultural Center in East New York to celebrate the new members of the department. This class boasts the growing diversity of the fire department, with 46% of the class comprised of people of color. In addition, 28 of the graduating members are veterans from the U.S. Army, Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy.

Hundreds gathered at South Side High School in Canarsie Sunday to compete in the 43rd annual Adventists Youth Ministries Olympics. It was the first time since the 80's the event returned to Brooklyn. Runners from all over the northeast compete all year to qualify for the Olympics. The track meet was created for runners who were unable to make it to their school's Saturday track meets due to religious reasons.
