Press Club might not be the flashiest band on the scene. Still, as they mark their return after three years of silence, with their fourth album To All The Ones That I Love, it’s a comforting return to see them do what they do best: heart-on-the-sleeve lyrics with emotionally charged instruments that hits you, not only in the face, but also chest. One thing I’ve long admired about them is their ability to chase authenticity rather than completely shifting their sound.

The Crux is Joe Keery pushing his psychedelic pop-rock-Ish persona further, stripping back from the glossy DECIDE and leaning into something warmer, raw, and oddly timeless. Even though The Crux sees and hears a shift in sound, Djo’s signature remains, with lush synths, layered vocals, and a somewhat existential dread wrapped around reflective lyrics and infectious hooks.
