    Texas importers paid more than 2½ times as much in tariffs this March compared with a year earlier, according to a new report that links the surge to a wave of executive orders issued by President Donald Trump after he returned to office. Importers in the Lone Star State paid $1.5 billion in tariffs in March 2025 — $934 million more than in March 2024. That’s an increase of 167%, while import value only rose 10%, according to the report from advocacy group Farmers for Free Trade.

    Indeed CEO Chris Hyams announced Monday that he is stepping down from his role leading the online hiring and recruiting platform. The company will turn to its former chief executive to take his place. Hisayuki “Deko” Idekoba, the current president and CEO of Indeed’s Tokyo-based parent company, Recruit Holdings, will take over as CEO. Idekoba joined Recruit as an executive officer in 2003 and led the company’s acquisition of Indeed in 2012. He previously served as CEO of Indeed from 2013 to 2019.
