JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Staff at a Jacksonville pet store say they’re still in disbelief after a man stole a ferret in the middle of the day, slipping the animal down his shorts and walking out of the store before driving away. The incident happened Tuesday at Pet Land on Beach Boulevard, where employees say the suspect spent several minutes playing with the ferret, named Stella, before tucking her into his shorts and leaving the store without paying. The theft was captured on surveillance video.
