In October 2023, Greater Valdosta United Way launched its "Uniting for More" fundraising campaign with a goal of $1 million at its kickoff breakfast event. With a mission to mobilize the caring power of the community and a vision to better the lives of all community members, GVUW focuses to advocate the common good by investing in education, income and health.

The collection drive will provide free attire to attendees of the prom for people with disabilities. This year's event will be held at Rainwater Conference Center on Friday, Feb.

Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, is a prom for people with disabilities 14 and up to be celebrated and honored in an unforgettable experience, according to the website.
