In October 2023, Greater Valdosta United Way launched its "Uniting for More" fundraising campaign with a goal of $1 million at its kickoff breakfast event. With a mission to mobilize the caring power of the community and a vision to better the lives of all community members, GVUW focuses to advocate the common good by investing in education, income and health.

Jan. 18—VALDOSTA — First Baptist Church of Valdosta is preparing to host its sixth annual Night to Shine event empowering the disabled community next month. Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, is a prom for people with disabilities 14 and up to be celebrated and honored in an unforgettable experience, according to the website.
