Growing up as an immigrant latchkey kid, Roy Choi spent a lot of time wandering the streets of Los Angeles alone, thinking he'd never fit in anywhere. When Roy Choi was named as a 2010 F&W Best New Chef, he was as shocked as anyone. He'd come up through the ranks working at hotel restaurants and owned a food truck and said on an upcoming episode of the Tinfoil Swans podcast that he found himself at a party he'd never imagined being invited to. I was an election worker some years back. That is a loooooooong day, and people are nervous and not always at their best. Please be patient with the folks working the polls and if you have the wherewithal, say something nice to them. It's not for the faint of heart.

Here's (one tiny part of) the thing: Just a day or two after my mother died of Covid in a South Carolina nursing home, I saw Trump on TV making fun of masks and saying that Covid affects "almost no one." It was cruelty he savored. I will never forgive him. https://t.co/WHlwpHfuUp

It's been a billion years since I posted an Unclench O'Clock, but it seemed necessary today. Lower your shoulders; stop chewing, clawing, or ripping at your own body; and take a moment to breathe. Taking the stress out on your physical self doesn't help anything, especially you.

It's unclench o'clock. Stop whatever anxious physical thing you're doing to yourself and breathe / soften as best you can.
