This systematic review included 22 observational studies published between 2007 and 2024 on the association between β-adrenergic drugs and Parkinson's disease risk. Most studies were subject to important biases that may explain the associations observed in meta-analyses. In meta-analyses, β-antagonist users had a 41% increased risk of PD compared to never users, and β2-agonist users had a 7% non-significant reduced risk of PD.
